Private journal kept by James Downs on a whaling voyage in the Pacific on the barque Mary, including a detailed account of a later voyage to England from Mauritius, during which the crew mutinied. Places visited include New Guinea, New Ireland, Lord Howe Islands, Timor and Christmas Island (Indian Ocean).
